Dead blog? History???

In the words of Monty Python, "it's not dead yet"

not just yet...

I'm still working with Texas Radio Theatre - doing some minimal broadcasting and doing lots of sound design in the Dallas theatre circles.

My Mom, after breaking her neck is doing lots better - she's healed up surprisingly fast and is back to work in a limited way.

My previous hiccups with the computer were just a pre-cursor to a horrific series of events that crippled two of my systems, and resulted in some data-loss.

It was a one, two three punch and I lost an entire hard drive in the process. I try to have all my stuff backed up and redundant between three systems (two desktops and one notebook)... but when one goes down and then another... Instead of repairing and keeping the back up chain going, I just shifted all my activity to the next best computer.

So, literally the day after I counted my blessings - BOOM! wirr wiir wirr CLICK.

brother!

Getting all the hardware and surviving data restored and in time to meet other deadlines took all my time and effort...

Four months later, I'm just to a point when I can take a breath.

WEEEEEEEE!

So how's everyone?

Rich,

Glad to have you back. Yes, despite the inactivity, some of us have been checking in from time to time to see what's up.

Just keep repeating: computers will make our lives easier. Computers will make our lives easier.

Having recently upgraded to XP, I invite you to join me in my spiritual quest. It involves capturing Bill Gates, tying him down on a mound of fire ants, and pouring honey all over him.

It may not help you recover your lost data, but it sure as hell would make a lot of people happy.

I am also very happy to hear that your Mom is doing better.

Glad to have you back.

All is well back here in Danbury. It's good to have you back on the net, and with family doing better. I was just thinking that I MUST get to editing the WXCI alumni day files so you an post them. I guess I'll have to do that real soon.

Well again good to hear from you and it won't be long till the news flows.

Ah there you are....glad to hear Mom is well and that you've risen above the windows crashheap scenario.

I've been fiddlin with xp pro on my new iMac Duo 20" and am running it inside something called parallels - while the Mac OS purrs as well. Very cool! I can check web pages and such to make sure my listeners are seeing things properly.

Interesting to note I had to load Norton Internet Security on the thing cause it is like a real windies box and it is suseptible to all the windows viral crap even tho it runs on the mac which is pretty much immune from such.

Wouldn't want to have viruses in my virtual space for XP....

what a dweeb I have become.

Just finished repainting my living room and laying down a new brazilian cherry laminate floor. The new couches I had under cover in the big back room are now in place and my daughter and I had a lot of fun tossing our old couches away in the big dumpster at the Kailua Transfer station last week.

The weather tortured me with hot and drizzly humidity on Sunday when I did the floor. As fast as I could gulp down cold water, I sweat it all out. Oh well, its done now...and I'm ready for the next room....(I'm rehabbing the old 1956 portion of our house.

Enjoy yer summer everyone!
