Looking forward to next year

Sorry I missed many of you who came in after me. I could only stay a little while that afternoon, but I had fun for the short time I had on the air. Thanks Hugh (for all you do) and thanks to John, Anna (sorry I missed the buffet) and the current staff for letting us play in the sandbox again.

Many of us who could not make it this year hope to be on hand for XCI's 35th anniversary. Should be a blast!

Finally

At last...

It's about time...

I've put all the photos from last year AND this year's birthday bashes on the blog. Now I need some help. A few people I know, but a few I don't. A little help here (would be appreciated). Send me an email or pop a note in the comments about what's going on or who is being seen.

Plus - If anyone has any recordings (of this event or WXCI history), I'll pop them online as well, just let me know where they be.

Thanks!!

-Rich

Yum... coffee and donuts...
CORRECTION:
Coffee and donuts is actually coffee and pizza bagels and veggie
tempura. The tempura went slower than the bagels, but thanks to Echo
staffers, it all went.

2/24 5pm for food and fun

Anna Youngquist, the business manager at XCI is helping to coordingate the birthday weekend, and they manage to get Sodexho (our food service here) to provide food for the event.

Here is the rest of her message:
We were brainstorming around here and thought it would be great if in the middle of the noon-midnight broadcast (on Feb 24), Alumn could gather at 5pm in the station for some buffet style munchies & beverages and reminisce about WXCI. Could you possibly post the 5pm festivities on the Memories blog?

Many thanks,

Anna Youngquist

Sounds cool...

WXCI Birthday details!

I just got this message from Hugh

WXCI Birthday - February 24, from noon to midnight

John Selwyn is the new PD and will be coordinating the schedule. Please let him know if you would like to do a show, and if you have a preference for time.

Hopefully we can have the schedule together by February 15th, before we break for President's Day weekend. His email is

wxcipd at yahoo.com

Also I'm looking for volunteers to do a panel from say 4:00-5:00 on Friday for students on life after college radio - - in what ways has the WXCI experience helped people in their careers after their time at WXCI.

Volunteers can email Hugh at

mccarneyh at wcsu.edu

If I don't get volunteers I'll start calling people.

(I have mentioned to the University that the criteria for being a WXCI alum is a little different from being a University alum. People who were at WXCI and aren't anymore are alums, regardless of their degree status).

- Hugh
